Mister Goodmath: Problem of the week®

After Mister Goodmath visited  Hollywood Hills Elementary School in Hollywood, Florida, Chris Bravate's Fifth Graders  submitted the following guest problem.  Mister Goodmath sends a great big THANKS to this class of Mighty Panthers.  Well done, Kids!!!     Visit Hollywood Hills Elementary.

The Challenge:  Several months ago Mrs. Bravate's class was informed by the school's principal that their classroom needed to have the carpet removed and tile installed in its place.  Her students took it upon themselves to calculate for school board installers how many 12 inch square tiles it would take to complete the job.  The kids measured the room at 35 feet long and 22 feet wide.  There were several built-in pieces of furniture along the walls; two closets each measuring 4 feet in long and 2 feet in depth and one book shelf measuring 19 feet long and 1 foot in depth.    Tile could not be laid beneath them because they could't be moved.  Accepting the challenge, your task is to arrive at the same number of tiles that the Hollywood Panthers did.
