Mister Goodmath: Problem
of the week

®
The Challenge:
A trucker hauls famous Georgia Peaches.
The fuel tank on his truck holds 150
gallons of diesel fuel. Georgia's fuel prices are the lowest in the
nation, so the trucker spends about $1.08 per gallon of diesel fuel.
A. How much would it cost to fill
the tank?
B. The owner/driver has decided to add saddle tanks (two additional tanks) to his truck to reduce the number of fuel stops on long hauls. Each holds 75 gallons of fuel. If his truck was empty, how much money would the trucker need to fill all of the tanks?
