The Challenge:
The following Challenge was submitted by Mr. Alan Hochman, a fourth grade teacher at C.W. Norton Elementary School, in Gainesville, Florida. Mister Goodmath and the Welleby 'Dolphins' send a big THANKS, Alan!!!

Ms. Flick the manager of a movie theater in Gainsville wanted to give out small promotional toys to young girls and boys attending a certain movie. Wanting to order the correct number of toys for girls and for boys, she decided to to count the children attending the inaugural showing during the first hour of ticket sales. While counting, Ms. Flick noticed that for every boy that walked through the door, two girls would follow. If the total number of children that came to the theater during that first hour was 21, how many were girls and how many were boys?
The Solution:
Should you decide to ponder the problem and accept
the challenge, communicate your solution to Mister Goodmath at "rooneym@mistergoodmath.org".
